Ooohhh.... it's a sticky subject that most of us don't like to talk about but need to confront at least one time or another during the course of our day. Let's just face it, for some of us credit card debt makes us lose sleep. It's nothing pretty. Depending on the amount that we have on our balances, the credit card debt that we have can alter our future. With a bad credit history, it can determine whether or not we can qualify for a new car or home loan.

Debt is a sight for sore eyes and that's why we need to take a few simple steps to help us eliminate credit card debts:

Don't charge what you can't afford with that credit card. If you can't otherwise pay for it with cash, don't buy it. If you're stuck in a rut, stick with the basics such as groceries and the gas you need to put in your car, but by all means don't go on a shopping spree when your current cash flow looks like next to nothing because all it will do is add on to the already piling amount of credit card debts that you have.
Pay more than the monthly minimum. If you are paying the minimum, then trust me that it will take you ages to pay off your debt. You'll just end up paying more in interest then the amount you spent on the purchases that you made.
Do discipline yourself to pay off your debt as soon as possible before the interest accumulates. The longer you wait, the more you'll have to pay to the demons that collect your interest. Plus, with every additional purchase you make, you'll end up paying interest on top of that too and that's something you quite frankly don't want to do.
Do get on the ball and sort your credit cards to see exactly how deep in credit card debts you really are and to see where you stand with your finances. The longer you wait, the worse the problem becomes.
